Customers are constantly striving to perform essential DBA related tasks being driven by application improvements and evolutions. Non-Disruptive schema changes have been a major objective for the Db2 for z/OS ecosystem. Db2 will discontinue to support several legacy table space types and deprecated functions. Organizations must migrate to Universal Table Spaces (UTS) and remove unsupported functions prior to the deadline to ensure long‑term database viability. In addition to user‑defined objects, the work file database and many Db2 catalog tables that reside in deprecated table spaces must also be considered in the migration plan. This session highlights the invaluable online schema enhancement features in Db2 that can be exploited to achieve the highest level of availability.
