About me
Les King is a part-time professor at multiple Ontario Colleges, offering courses in Mathematics, Programming and Data Management. Les has also been an instructor at the University of Toronto in the Mathematics department. Les effectively draws a connection between what the marketplace demands and what the next wave of talented students need to know to be market ready, and internationally competitive in an increasingly high demand field. This is a perfect intersection of his international, technological, and market awareness to perpetuate the success of the next generation.
Les King recently completed 35 years with IBM, primarily focused on the Db2 business. As it pertains to Db2, Les has held roles in product management, development, customer support, technical sales, lab services, technical marketing and education curriculum development, badging and certifications.
Les King is a volunteer for the International Db2 User Group (IDUG) and currently holds the position of Global Marketing Committee (GMC) Chair and manages the Db2 (LUW) Badge program owned by IDUG. Les lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada area. Les enjoys squash and is an advanced open water diver. Les is working on his degree in bible studies at Ariel College. Les is a DJ and a member of the Program Committee board at Canoe FM, a local community radio station.
