High Performance DBATs (HP DBATS) is a very important performance feature of Db2 for DDF workloads. If applied and used intelligently this feature can generate significant savings in CPU resource consumption. For over two years, I've been managing QLIK Replicate as a Change Data Capture (CDC) tool for our Db2 LUW databases and also for the host Db2 z/OS. I've gained a lot of experience in this area, which I'd like to share. I'll describe the environment with replications between Db2 z/OS and Db2 LUW. For which use cases is the tool suitable, and for which is it less appropriate? What problems have we encountered, and what workarounds have we found?

Insert Time Clustering (ITC) tables are not an obscure feature in Db2 - many practitioners know them, and they do appear in logging, event, and similar append-oriented workloads. However, their practical design space is often underestimated, especially when the discussion stays at a high level and does not go into physical organization and concurrency details.
This session looks at ITC as a technical design choice rather than a theoretical table attribute. I will briefly position ITC within the Db2 table organization family and then focus on the internals that matter in practice: its MDC-derived physical layout, insert behavior, extent reuse, ordered access to rows in their natural arrival sequence, and the locking patterns taken on pages and extents during insert, scan, and processing activity. These details are not just implementation trivia - they directly determine whether ITC is a good fit for a given workload.

This presentation will show how Volkswagen handles a Db2 database with one very large 2 column table (timestamp &BLOB) , which was growing from some GB to 400TB. It will explain what challenges we had with hardware changes, software limits and working errors and how we solved them. Also making backups is not so easy for such a large system. This system is managed with a minimum amount of hardware resources inside a single Db2 LUW instance.

The reorganization of a DB2 tablespace is primarily performed to optimize access path performance, but it also constitutes a critical database maintenance operation. This presentation will cover our experience as users following a sudden increase in the number of partitions in partition-by-growth tablespaces after executing partition-level REORGs, as well as the approach we took to address the issue.
