E202 SQL Correction Agent: Building a Self-Correcting AI Agent for Db2
Sunday September 27, 2026 2:00pm - 6:00pm BST
Standard Text-to-SQL tools fail when they hit the complexity of enterprise Db2 schemas. This hands-on session demonstrates how to transition from basic prompting to Agentic AI - creating an autonomous "Query Guard" that reasons, acts, and fixes its own mistakes. We will build an agent capable of navigating the Db2 lifecycle independently. You will learn to architect a Agent that doesn't just error out, but proactively traps SQLCODEs, autonomously queries the Db2 Catalog to resolve schema mismatches, and refactors its own SQL on the fly.
Attendees will leave with a functional blueprint for an agent that transforms Db2 from a passive subsystem into a resilient, self-healing partner. This will be an hands on Session so attendes will learn to create agents around DB2

B6 From Complexity to Operational Intelligence: Modernizing Database Administration with AI on IBM Z
Tuesday September 29, 2026 10:20am - 11:20am BST
Db2 and IMS database administrators on IBM Z are increasingly expected to support modern, AI‑enabled business initiatives while continuing to manage complex, mission‑critical transactional environments. Traditional operational workflows—often manual and reliant on deep individual expertise—can limit consistency and scalability as systems evolve.
This session introduces IBM Z Database Assistant, which brings agent‑assisted intelligence into Db2 and IMS administration. By combining DBA‑centric AI agents with context‑driven dashboards, the Database Assistant helps DBAs better understand database behavior, evaluate operational impact, and take informed actions—reducing the need for manual interpretation across multiple tools.
Attendees will see how natural language interaction can simplify common DBA tasks, how intelligent SQL tuning can improve transactional workload efficiency, and how AI agents can assist with faster problem diagnosis across Db2 and IMS environments.

D6 Permitting, masking and trusting, a deep dive into 3 new Db2 12.1 security features
Tuesday September 29, 2026 10:20am - 11:20am BST
This session is a deep dive into 3 new Db2 12.1 security features, Reduce file permissions, RCAC mask at read enhancements, and defining a Trusted Context using the new trust procedure and client callbacks. This will be a face paced session offering practical details on how to make use of these new features in more depth than a what's new session can cover. Reduced file permissions address the common concern of everyone having access to the db2diag.log (and others). Mask at read offers an alternative masking behaviour with fundamental changes to SQL behaviour. And Trust Procedures allow custom definitions of trust for determining a trusted connection.

D11 Data Lake Architecture for Scale: Patterns, Pitfalls, and Best Practices based on BaFin's first data lake
Wednesday September 30, 2026 11:30am - 12:30pm BST
Data lakes have become a foundational component of modern data platforms, enabling organizations to store and process large volumes of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data with high scalability and flexibility.
For data architects and database administrators, the challenge lies not only in designing a robust data lake architecture but also in ensuring consistent performance, governance, and operational reliability across diverse workloads.
A well-designed data lake architecture typically follows a layered approach, incorporating ingestion, storage, processing, metadata management, and access layers.
Data is ingested through batch processing and streaming pipelines into cost-effective, distributed storage systems, based on object storage.
Processing frameworks support transformation and enrichment, while metadata and catalog services provide schema management, lineage, and discoverability. Increasingly, modern architectures adopt lakehouse patterns to bridge the gap betwe

C15 A Modern Approach to Db2 Backup & Recovery: Snapshot Technology with Cloud Integration
Thursday October 1, 2026 9:00am - 10:00am BST
This session presents a comprehensive approach to database backup and recovery using Snapshot Backup technology integrated with Cloud infrastructure. The solution leverages the Db2 ACS Scripted interface to automate backup operations on Linux systems, enabling efficient data protection strategies for enterprise databases.
The implementation utilizes Linux LVM (Logical Volume Manager) to create consistent point-in-time snapshots of database volumes, ensuring data integrity during backup operations.
By combining snapshot-based backup techniques with cloud object storage capabilities, this approach delivers a robust disaster recovery solution that minimizes backup windows, reduces storage costs, and enhances data availability. The scripted automation through Db2 ACS interface ensures consistent, repeatable backup procedures while maintaining operational efficiency in Linux environments.
